Hiroshi Sakuma

I am a research student at the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory at Osaka University. I have been working closely with Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro since September 2015. I am particularly interested in the use of technology that promotes empathic human relationships, and I hope to contribute towards a world without human conflicts.

I founded "Artificial Intelligence Research for Human," one of the biggest associations of AI for young researchers and students in Japan. Also, I am a lead student editor at the Journal of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence. As a vice curator of the Global Shapers Community Osaka Hub, which is an initiative of the World Economic Forum, I'm in charge of the NEXT DAY 2019 Symposium.

I previously interned at the Panasonic Silicon Valley Laboratory for a half year, and I did a year of exchange at the Division of Engineering Science in University of Toronto. Awarded the Special Recognition Award in the 19th Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities at Osaka University.
